Why it works
Twitter is very much about discussions in the comments. And people love when people comment on their posts, it makes them feel that they have fans. Especially those without large followings.
If we can comment on new relevant posts as soon as possible we’ll maximize the possibility of response from the profile that posted it as well as number of people who will see it.
Imagine you’ll be the first person to comment on Paul Grahams new post. This random one has 440K views, and people who were first to comment got thousands of impressions totally free. Now if we can add value, we might even get some of those to follow us.
How to do it
We’ll be using X pro. This allows you to see multiple timelines in one place and scroll them easily. You can add timelines for specific profiles, communities, or even specific keyword searches. The timelines get updated automatically so you can stay on top of the latest posts.
We’ll focus on 2 things:
- Commenting on famous people’s posts ASAP
- Finding everyone who posted about our topic
The first one we can do easily by using our main timeline and just looking for new people you follow that just posted. Make sure you’re following your target influencers already.
The second we can do by creating a timeline for relevant keywords related to what we do. In most cases they’ll be a dedicated community about it as well. This way we can engage with people with less followers.
